Only one...

...baby, that is. Thank God. I had my first ultrasound yesterday. I am 9 weeks and 2 days pregnant today. Our official due date is 2/10/10. The ultrasound went well. The baby is measuring perfectly with my due date. The heart rate was 185 bpm. Not sure what this means (Trae's was 160bpm at his first ultrasound). Girl, maybe? Who knows. Anyway, John wasn't able to attend the appointment with me because he was already signed up to work for someone who was on vacation yesterday. So, mom went with me. She got to see a live ultrasound of her grand baby for the first time. She was really pretty impressed. They didn't have all that cool technology when she was having babies. There is no telling what things will be like when MY grand babies start to arrive. John is happy but I think he is a little disappointed that it isn't more than one. He has had two dreams that we were having twin boys. That is a nightmare if you ask me. I really think this one is a girl. I don't know why. Just do. I won't be disappointed if it isn't though. Trae would probably love a little brother. Anyways, that was all just a little random. That is all the new news at the Griffith house. I will keep everyone posted.

The Beach...

Last week we took a little family vacation to Destin, FL. John has been working soooo much lately that it was some much needed family time. Friday was also our 5 year anniversary so we enjoyed our time together. Trae was not that found of the sand. We probably only spent about 3 hours total on the beach, but we still had a great vacation. Here are a few pictures...

Rainy Days...

This weekend has been nothing but rainy. So, what's a kid to do? Play in it. During one of the breaks between storms, we took Trae's sailboat to the creek. Trae loved it. What can I say...John and I had a little fun too.

" When life gives you lemons...make lemonade." When mother nature gives you a rainy weekend....make sure you have a boat.

Weathering the Storm...

Last night we had strong thunderstorms with "funnel clouds" spotted. Trae and I were home alone, waiting on John to get home from work. Trae was taking a nap when the sirens went off. It got really quiet out and the sky looked nasty. I usually don't get freaked out about tornadoes, but this time I was a little scared. I'm not sure why. Probably because John was driving home when all of this started. I decided to wake Trae up and head to the bathroom. Trae was not a happy camper. He was running a fever when I put him down for his nap. (Teeth are coming in) This first picture is of Trae as soon as I put him down in the bathtub. He knew something wasn't right. "Mommy would never wake me up from a nap and put me fully clothed in the bathtub." "Not to mention, let Max come in the bathroom." This scenario didn't last long. There was only so much closeness I could stand in our little bitty bathroom. Meanwhile, our power goes out. John is still "coming" home. He calls, there is a tree down on Hwy 31 and he can't get through. "Okay, fine, try another route." Not too long after this telephone call, John calls again. "Another tree down, now what am I going to do?" Did I mention John was bring our dinner home. Trae and I are pretty hungry at this point. So, I call my parents. My dad gives us another route to try. Luckily, this time John was able to get home. By now the storm is over. Trae and I go to the porch to check out the aftermath. This is what we found.... Trae and Max waiting out the storm
Our front yard, the drainage ditch just couldn't keep up!

Another view of the front yard, we have never seen it flood like this.

In this view you can see the driveway, water was rushing across it

John finally made it home about an hour after leaving work. We were unable to see in the house. We ate dinner on the front porch with what little daylight was left. After realizing I didn't have any candles or flashlights with batteries, we went to my parents for the night. That was another experience in itself. Trae didn't like not being in his own bed. We came home at about 6:30am. Needless to say, we all took a much needed nap. Oh, by the way, the yard was completely drained when we got home.
Thank God we are all safe and no damage to the house. But I sure could do without all these April showers.

A-Day in Auburn...

John, Justin, and Trae went to A-Day in Auburn yesterday. From what I hear, Trae was pretty good. John said he sat and played with some peanuts a lot of the time. John also said he enjoyed the band. When they walked into the stadium Trae's eyes got pretty BIG. Sounds like overall Trae enjoyed it. I know John and Justin did. They are two fanatics about Auburn football. Apparently, where Trae was found most the game

Walking back to the car after the game. That was a lot of football for a little one. He was worn out.

On their way home, there was a wreck on I-65. They were stopped for approximately an hour and a half. So John and Justin decide to get out and have a "tailgating" party on the interstate with my toddler.

Happy Easter

We had a great Easter here. Trae woke up to find the easter bunny had left him a basket full of toys. After he played with his easter stuff. We went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for lunch. Once lunch was over we went to Grandma Pam's house for yet another lunch and a egg hunt. Trae also received a big easter basket over there. Later, we went to see his Papa John too. He had a great day! He was soooo good too, considering, he didn't nap all day. What the easter bunny left
