Doctor #5 visit...

Monday John, Trae, and I went to my OB appointment. I was 24weeks 5days. Everything went well. Baby's HR was 152. Dr Loncar said my belly was measuring perfect for gestational age. I gained 4lbs!!! I am up a total of 6 since my first prenatal visit with her. BP was good. I will go back in 4 weeks which will be November 23rd. I will be almost 29 weeks at this point. I have to do the dreaded glucose testing then. I am sure since I supposedly had gestational diabetes the first time I will probably fail the test this time too. But on the bright side I get to eat a candy bar and drink a coke. Doctor's orders! We also made the appointment for our 3d ultrasound for November 30th. It is really killing me to have to spend $150 on this since insurance won't pay for it. Everyone knows I am a tight woad. $150 one week before Trae's birthday and that close to Christmas just makes it extra hard for me. But, this will be the only ultrasound of hers that we can get on DVD were with Trae's we got all 3 of them on DVD. Plus, the mother in me would like to have another look at her before she is born just to make sure everything is still growing like it should.

On another note. John and I finished clearing out the guest bedroom (well not finished with the closet yet). We also got it painted. We think it looks pretty great. All that is in the room is Trae's "big boy" dresser. He loves running in his "big boy" room. We are just waiting on John's dad to stain his bed and build him a bookcase. Pretty soon he will be in the "big boy" room. I am so excited for him. I really hope he likes it and wants to play and sleep in it. After all, in a few months he won't have a choice.

That is all for now....please see our Halloween Post below! (2 post in 2 days!! yay)

Happy Halloween...

We had a great Halloween. Trae went as a teddy bear as you can see. He was really pissed that I made him wear that stupid costume. He cried for the first half hour that he was in it. However, after we got to grandma's house and he saw Justin and Zac he was over it. Aunt Kelly, Uncle Ronnie, Zac, and half of the kids from Trinity took Trae around grandma's neighborhood. Kelly said he did good. He went to about 3 houses with all the little kids. All I know is he came back to Mom and Dad's with a pumpkin FULL of candy! He helped me pass out some candy to mom and dad's....that was until he got scared of the little trick or treater. It was a little 4 or 5 year old dressed as a Alabama football player. John thought this was way too funny!!! After mom and dad's we went to John's dad's. He got a lot of candy there too. Uncle Shane left him a goody bag! I then took Trae to Aunt Nita's house where he got even more goodies. We came home around 10pm. Trae was OUT in the car. John said he was probably in a sugar coma. Over all Halloween was a great success for the Griffith's. I just hope Trae forgets about all the candy come morning.

Five on Friday...

1. Sunday was John's 29th birthday. We had a great day. After we woke up we went to breakfast. Then we went to Target and registered for baby stuff! After Target, we went to my parent's for John's birthday lunch. We had a great time. Then we came home, took naps, and then off to his dad's house to visit a while. It was a long day.

2. Tuesday we took Trae to Tate Farms. He loved it!! He especially loved the goats and rabbits. We had to visit them first thing and again before we left. He also loved the "horse" swings that were made from tires. We went on a hay ride to the pumpkin patch and Trae got to pick his pumpkin out.

3. Wednesday John and I started really cleaning out the guest room. This room will become Trae's "big boy" room. We are making slow progress. Hopefully, we will have it ready to be painted by next weekend at the latest. I am super excited about Trae moving to a big boy bed. It is long over due. He knows how to climb out of his crib.

4. Yesterday Trae and I were home alone again. John had to go back to work. We didn't make much progress other than grocery shopping and going to the park. After nap time I took Trae to Adventure park. He had a blast. The weather was so nice that we had to get out in it.

5. We have officially decided on baby girl's name, just not the spelling.
Her name is either:
Katherine Reese
or
Kathryn Reese
But regardless she will be called Reese.

Doctor visit #4 and It's a....

....Girl. Yep, that's right. We went to the doctor yesterday and had the anatomy ultrasound. Everything looked perfect and right on scale for gestational age the sonographer said. She also said that she is definite it is a girl. (She also added that she has only been wrong one time.) I have pictures of her and her little girlie parts but the computer room is in transition to becoming Trae's big boy room and I can't get to the scanner. The due date is still Feb. 10th. The heart rate was 146bpm. The baby is currently in the breech position. (This is okay at this gestational age. She has plenty of time to turn.) My blood pressure was perfect at 120/70 and I had lost a pound. Making my total weight gain for 21weeks a whooping 2 lbs. So, the visit was great all the way around.

I think John is in shock that he is going to have a daughter. I truly think that he thought he couldn't produce a little girl. This was probably due to the fact that he is one of three boys in his family. All I know is he was just as happy to help pick out some clothes for her as he was for Trae. He has even stated, "My daughter won't be wearing that!" to some of the items we saw in the stores.

The next appointment is Oct. 26th and I will be 24weeks and 6days then. We will keep you posted.

Doctor visit #3...

I had my 18 week visit with the OB/GYN on Wednesday. Everything was fine. It took the nurse what seemed like FOREVER to find the baby's heartbeat. This totally scared the crap out of John and I. But all is well. The heartbeat was lower than what it had been. It was 145bpm. So, my thoughts of it being a girl due to the faster heartbeat just went out the window. I officially have no clue/guess what the sex of the baby is. We scheduled our ultrasound appointment for Monday, September 28th. It will only be a couple weeks before we know hopefully. I just pray that the baby is a picture of health. We will keep you posted.

Doctor Visit #2...

Yesterday I had my second doctor's visit. Everything is going well. I am 13 weeks and 2 days today. I can't believe I am already in my 2nd Trimester. The baby's heartbeat was 159 bpm. My doctor says that she thinks it's a girl by the heartbeat. (Which she also said with Trae!) Other than that there's nothing exciting to report. It was a quick visit. I will return on Sept 2nd and I will be 17 weeks at that point. John will get to go with me to that visit. I think he is looking forward to hearing the baby's heartbeat. Somehow, that heartbeat just makes it all REAL. We should be doing the anatomy ultrasound at 20weeks. That will be the end of September. I will keep everyone posted!

Only one...

...baby, that is. Thank God. I had my first ultrasound yesterday. I am 9 weeks and 2 days pregnant today. Our official due date is 2/10/10. The ultrasound went well. The baby is measuring perfectly with my due date. The heart rate was 185 bpm. Not sure what this means (Trae's was 160bpm at his first ultrasound). Girl, maybe? Who knows. Anyway, John wasn't able to attend the appointment with me because he was already signed up to work for someone who was on vacation yesterday. So, mom went with me. She got to see a live ultrasound of her grand baby for the first time. She was really pretty impressed. They didn't have all that cool technology when she was having babies. There is no telling what things will be like when MY grand babies start to arrive. John is happy but I think he is a little disappointed that it isn't more than one. He has had two dreams that we were having twin boys. That is a nightmare if you ask me. I really think this one is a girl. I don't know why. Just do. I won't be disappointed if it isn't though. Trae would probably love a little brother. Anyways, that was all just a little random. That is all the new news at the Griffith house. I will keep everyone posted.
