The Protector

I am frequently asked how our "baby" (Max) has done since the baby came home. I will let you judge for yourself.

Trae's First Days of Daycare

Trae began daycare on Monday. I went back to work after being off 7wks. Trae is doing great. His "teacher" says he is a really good baby. So he has made a great transition. I was having a great first week back to work. Trae was letting us sleep at least 8hrs each night, so things were going good. However, today I came home after half a day of work. I either have a really bad sinus infection or I am coming down with the flu. I was running a low grade fever and have the body aches. I am praying that whatever it is John and Trae will stay healthy. The last thing I need is to be out of work after being off so long.

The above pictures were taken today. Our little guy is really growing up fast. Today he is beginning to smile. I can't wait for him to start laughing!!

King of the Remote

Justin and Zach got Grandpa this remote for Christmas because he is blind in one eye and can't see out of the other (Not litterally). They thought it would be cute to pose Trae beside it because the remote is almost the length of him. We say he looks just like Grandpa. He is napping in his chair while guarding the remote.

First Snow

Trae "experienced" his first snow Wednesday. It snowed really steady for about an hour in Hartselle. We aren't talking blizzard or anything, but still quite a bit for us. I was tempted to take Trae outside in his car seat and set him in the snow with these pictures, but since he is not completely over his cold I thought better of it. He still went out into it to go to our family dinner night. However, he still missed playing in his first snow! This is our house after about 35-45mins. of steady snow.

Trae's Doctor Visit

I took Trae to the docotor today because he has had a lot of congestion, coughing, and sneezing over the weekend. He was actually starting to act a little better, but I figured since he would start attending daycare next Monday, I probably shouldn't sit on it. She said he just has a little cold and there is nothing he can take at his age. So we will just wait it out. It shouldn't take long. I am sure it is the same thing John had last week. He got over it in a few days. I did mention to Dr. Hay that Trae seems to be spitting up a lot. It doesn't matter which formula we use (we have tried 3 different kinds, including soy) he will tolerate the formula for a little while and then begin spitting up tablespoons full. She said that he has reflux. The poor kid takes after me! She gave us a new formula to try, some medicine to use before his feedings, and if that doesn't work, we get to add rice to every feeding. So far so good with the new formula. Oh and by the way, he weighed in at a whopping 9lbs 10ozs. I know he is definately keeping some of the formula down.

1 month...

So, Trae turned one month old offically on Sunday, January 6th. That morning we unoffically weighed him on our scale with John and he is weighing in at 9.5lbs. He is also measuring 21inches long. So as far as I can tell our little one won't be little for long!!

I took him today to Legacy Portraits in Decatur to have his 1 month pictures taken. I wouldn't say he was "bad," but he didn't exactly cooperate the whole time. But I guess that is to be expected with a newborn. They want you to work on their schedule, so I have learned. I am excited though! Jennifer said she was able to get plenty of good shots. I think his aunt Klancy will be excited too. He had his picture taken in two of the blankets she made for him. We also did the naked baby picture. I just couldn't resist! He will kill me later. Anyway, take a look at her site www.legacybyjennifer.com

Wow, 4 weeks already...

These pictures were taken today on our bed. John and I were just playing around, trying to get some good shots. We are going to have Trae's picture taken professionally next Tuesday. I can't wait!! Although, it is going to cost me a small fortune.

Our Little Auburn Tiger

Just a Little Late...

So here is the Christmas card photo of Trae. I have been really busy (who could imagine, with a 3 week old and the holidays?) and haven't had time to post it like promised. I hope to upload some photos of Trae watching the Chick-fil-A bowl in his Auburn attire some time this week. I hope everyone has a happy and safe new year!
